 Dots (2014)

Your life is the only inspiration we need.

We take your children's art work and your family photos and create images that are saturated with an atmosphere of nostalgia and memory.  To accomplish this, we utilize various mediums.  In some instances, we work with a child's original art work, transpose it to a silk screen, and then reassign it wholesale to a fresh paper.  These acts of appropriation leave the original image untouched, although uncannily transformed by the process of mechanical reproduction.  For other works, Naif uses digital processing to transform the scale or color of a work of art, often merging them with details from other paintings or drawings. Naif uses subtle, often ephemeral forms to suggest nuanced personal narratives.

Each piece functions as a vehicle for individual expression while resonating with universal themes.
